【作家メッセージ】
手仕事展に参加させていただいて5年目となりました。
お客さまのお声や周りの方々からのアドバイスを参考に、次はこんな作品を、こんなレイアウトをと毎回思い悩んでいます。少しずつですが成長はできているかなと思っています。
私の作品は決してスマートとは言えませんが、ポケット・留め具・革の厚さなど工夫しています。使い勝手の良さ悪さは実際に使ってみて初めてわかります。多くの方が使いやすいと思ってくださることを願っています。
またすべて手縫いのため、音の出るカービングや穴あけは昼間に、そして夜は音の出ないように縫ったり綴じたりをしています。
革の作品作りに必要な材料を販売するお店も少なくなってきて、今まで使っていた物が手に入りづらくなってきました。
それでもいろいろ工夫しながら楽しく作品作りを続けていきたいと思っております。

【Artist’s Message】
This will be my fifth year participating in the Handcraft Exhibition.
Each time, I reflect on the feedback I’ve received from visitors and the advice of those around me—thinking carefully about what kinds of pieces to create next, or how to improve the layout of my display. Thanks to this process, I feel I’ve grown little by little.
My work may not be the most polished, but I put a great deal of care into the details: the placement of pockets, the choice of fasteners, the thickness of the leather.
You only really understand how practical something is once you start using it. I hope many people will find my pieces comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable to use.
Since everything is hand-stitched, I do the noisier work—like carving and punching holes—during the day, and save the quieter tasks, like sewing and binding, for the evening.
Lately, it’s been getting harder to source some of the materials I’ve always relied on, as fewer shops carry leatherworking supplies.
Even so, I want to keep creating with joy, exploring new ideas, and continuing this craft in my own way.
