【作家メッセージ】
2010年夏、私はガラスと出会いました。
ふとした事から父が電気炉を入手し、見よう見まねで溶かした青いおはじきの美しさに、私はガラスの虜になりました。
それから始まった私のガラス作家人生は、未知との遭遇の連続で、自分の想い描くガラスを形にするべく研究と実験に没頭する日々を過ごすにつれ、私は益々ガラスの面白さや魅力に引き込まれていきました。
私が取り組んでいるガラス技法は、世界最古のガラス技法「パート・ド・ヴェール」と呼ばれていて、幾度となく継承が途絶え「幻の技法」とも云われてきました。
私の追求する「薄く緻密で繊細な、透明感のある鮮やかな色彩」で表現したガラス作品、特に私の代表作でもあるガラスの蝶は、他には無い緻密さで表現し好評をいただいています。
そのことを光栄に思うと共に、変幻自在でまだ多くの魅力を秘めたガラスと関われることに感謝しています。

【Message from the artist】
Summer of 2010, my first meeting with glass.
My father obtained an electric furnace by chance, and I became captivated by the beauty of the blue glass tidbits he melted for me.
My life as a glass artist began with a series of encounters with the unknown, and as I spent my days immersed in research and experimentation to create the glass of my dreams, I was drawn further and further into the intriguing and fascinating world of glass.
The glass technique I am engaged in is called “pate de verre,” the oldest glass technique in the world, and is said to be a “phantom technique” because it has been discontinued many times.
I have received favorable reviews for my glass works that express my pursuit of “thin, precise, delicate, transparent, and vivid colors,” especially my signature work, glass butterflies, which are expressed with a precision that is unmatched by any other technique.
I am honored and grateful to be able to be involved with glass, which is so ever-changing and still holds so many charms.
I hope you will visit the “Japanese Handicrafts” exhibition to see the actual works and feel a part of the romanticism of glass that transcends time and space.
