\u3010Artist’s Message\u3011
\nThis will be my fifth year participating in the Handcraft Exhibition.
\nEach time, I reflect on the feedback I\u2019ve received from visitors and the advice of those around me\u2014thinking carefully about what kinds of pieces to create next, or how to improve the layout of my display. Thanks to this process, I feel I\u2019ve grown little by little.
\nMy work may not be the most polished, but I put a great deal of care into the details: the placement of pockets, the choice of fasteners, the thickness of the leather.
\nYou only really understand how practical something is once you start using it. I hope many people will find my pieces comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable to use.
\nSince everything is hand-stitched, I do the noisier work\u2014like carving and punching holes\u2014during the day, and save the quieter tasks, like sewing and binding, for the evening.
\nLately, it\u2019s been getting harder to source some of the materials I\u2019ve always relied on, as fewer shops carry leatherworking supplies.
\nEven so, I want to keep creating with joy, exploring new ideas, and continuing this craft in my own way.<\/p>\n
