\u3010Artist’s Message\u3011
\nLeather products become more familiar and endearing over time as they are used. I also have many items like pass cases, pen cases, and book covers that I\u2019ve had for over ten years. It\u2019s difficult for me to replace them with new ones because, once you own an item, you won\u2019t find a second one like it. Therefore, I must always create new pieces with fresh ideas.
\nSome of my works might not attract attention even after being displayed multiple times. I wonder why that is. I experimented with different shoulder strap colors, handle lengths, and sizes to find what might work. Thus, I am truly delighted when such pieces are eventually purchased.
\nI often get inspired by advice from others and by looking around town, but turning these ideas into my own creations is quite challenging.
\nLast year, I made three-dimensional animal figures for the first time at a craft exhibition. I\u2019m not very skilled with animals and struggle with their faces and body shapes. However, as I layered the colors, they gradually became endearing and cute.
