\u3010Message from the artist\u3011
\nI use the traditional decorative technique of damascening (carving the base material and inlaying other materials or different colors into the carved areas) on ceramic vessels.
\nIn my case, when the molded base is still fresh, I apply a concave pattern of lines to the surface of the piece by pushing or carving, and then fill in the concave pattern with mud of a different color (decorative clay) and scrape off the overflow. Although this process is very time-consuming, it allows for the creation of a piece of art with a richly colored pattern that brings out the beauty of the piece. The damascening decorations give the piece a unique character, highlighting the food, drink, flowers, etc., and making the piece easy to use and pleasant to the eye. With my own thoughts and feelings incorporated into my work, I hope to create wares that resonate with people’s hearts. This year, I will also be exhibiting a pendant with a matched braided cord and a pendant top that I exhibited in Saint-Cyr (France) in June.<\/p>\n
