\nSummer of 2010, my first meeting with glass.
\nMy father obtained an electric furnace by chance, and I became captivated by the beauty of the blue glass tidbits he melted for me.
\nMy life as a glass artist began with a series of encounters with the unknown, and as I spent my days immersed in research and experimentation to create the glass of my dreams, I was drawn further and further into the intriguing and fascinating world of glass.
\nThe glass technique I am engaged in is called “pate de verre,” the oldest glass technique in the world, and is said to be a “phantom technique” because it has been discontinued many times.
\nI have received favorable reviews for my glass works that express my pursuit of “thin, precise, delicate, transparent, and vivid colors,” especially my signature work, glass butterflies, which are expressed with a precision that is unmatched by any other technique.
\nI am honored and grateful to be able to be involved with glass, which is so ever-changing and still holds so many charms.
\nI hope you will visit the “Japanese Handicrafts” exhibition to see the actual works and feel a part of the romanticism of glass that transcends time and space.<\/p>\n
